Regional Marketing Manager – Los Angeles
NAC Architecture is seeking a full-time Marketing Manager to lead the marketing efforts of our growing Los Angeles (Chinatown) office.
We are looking for a smart, energetic, and forward-thinking individual to join our multi-office Marketing Team and be responsible for a wide spectrum of marketing and business development activities including managing proposals and SOQs, developing presentations, networking, managing the day-to-day activities of a Marketing Coordinator, as well as leading public relations and market research. The Regional Marketing Manager must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, meet tight deadlines, be flexible, and work independently as well as part of a team.
The LA Regional Marketing Manager’s top priority is to strategize and lead winning proposals and shortlist presentations to bring work into the firm.
Marketing Responsibilities
  • Work with Principals and other seller/doers to define proposal and shortlist presentation strategies
  • Perform market research to build client, project, and competitor intelligence
  • Develop and lead SOQs, proposals, and SF330 submittals in InDesign
  • Produce PowerPoint presentations, boards, and leave-behinds
  • Assist in creating and updating resumes, project descriptions, and proposal boilerplate
  • Coordinate and document client debriefs
  • Track and produce design award submittals
  • Develop content for public relations and social media activities
  • Position the firm and its leaders as thought leaders
  • Coordinate conference attendance, presentation proposal submittals, networking opportunities, and follow-up activities
  • Coordinate project photo shoots and manage cost sharing with consultants and general contractor
  • Coordinate staff photo shoots
  • Maintain photography and other visual imagery files in digital asset management system
  • Share marketing information, challenges, solutions, and lessons learned with other marketing staff
  • Support and collaborate with the Marketing Team in our Seattle and Spokane offices when proposal workload dictates
  • Attend industry events, such as association meetings and conferences, to build a personal network and gather intel about clients, competitors, and industry trends
Business Development Responsibilities
  • Lead monthly LA business development meeting with the Principals, CMO, and other key seller/doers
  • Identify potential opportunities (leads, RFQs and RFPs), and the decision makers within client organizations
  • Work with Principals to develop BD strategies and track activities and actions in CRM database
  • Develop pursuit capture plans in collaboration with Principals and other seller/doers
  • Set up meetings between client decision makers and Principals and other seller/doers, and participate as appropriate
  • Track status of bond campaigns
  • Provide business development mentoring to mid-level professionals
Management Responsibilities
  • Direct the activities of the Marketing Coordinator and support their professional development
  • Prioritize and manage multiple diverse projects
  • Manage the proposal and shortlist interview process following NAC’s best practices
  • Track current workload assignments in the firm’s proprietary database and produce a weekly marketing report
  • Lead weekly LA marketing meeting and Go/No Go discussions
  • Lead semi-weekly firm-wide K-12 market leaders meetings
  • Lead monthly LA business development meetings
  • Manage outside resources (consultants, photographers, etc.) to achieve desired results
  • Maintain the firm’s corporate identity to build NAC’s brand
Job Requirements
  • 5+ years’ of relevant work experience in architectural, engineering, construction or professional services firm
  • Critical thinking and engagement skills
  • Detail oriented, continually strives to improve and expand knowledge/skills
  • Superior copywriting and copy editing skills
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Project management and coordination skills
  • Strategic thinker; ability to identify client’s unique needs and challenges
  • Design aptitude for creating marketing materials representative of a design firm
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite software programs, particularly InDesign
  • Experience with databases and CRM programs
  • Knowledge of the PK-12, higher education, and healthcare markets a big plus
