NAC Architecture completed an addition and major renovation to Cascade Medical Center, a Critical Access Hospital, which completely upgraded its facilities to contemporary healthcare standards. The two-story plus basement, 20,000 square-foot addition, houses a new 12-bed patient care unit and emergency department on the main level, physician medical practices on the second floor, and central plant and ambulance garage in the basement. Extensive remodeling of the existing 14,000 square-foot hospital included imaging, public lobby, endoscopy, lab, physical therapy and support services.
With an emphasis on a hospitality environment in this tourist and recreational community, the building’s exterior complies with the City’s Design Standards for a Bavarian character. Construction began in summer 2009 and completed in 2011 in a three-phased process of new construction followed by remodeling of the existing hospital.
