Recreation Master Plan

City of Redmond, Washington

“An engaging and exciting place to work, live and play.” The City of Redmond’s vision for their community is being translated to a comprehensive Recreation Facility Master Plan led by NAC Architecture. City leaders, numerous community groups and countless residents are actively collaborating to ensure that Redmond workers, visitors and residents of all ages have access to safe, quality, well-maintained and efficiently operated facilities that offer fun, unique, innovative and exciting recreation for the next 30 years.
Redmond Parks and Recreation currently operates four facilities: Redmond Pool at Hartman Park, the Redmond Senior Center, the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center and the Old Fire House Teen Center. NAC Architecture is leading the process to review the existing facilities, conduct demographic and market projections and develop a plan addressing recreation, fitness, wellness, lifetime learning, and social and community connections. Through a series of interactive workshops engaging public participation, multiple programming options on eight different sites have been thoroughly evaluated, including capital and operational cost projections. Exploration included options in the downtown core that would embrace developer partners for a dynamic, mixed-use midrise concept and investigation of multiple locations on the Redmond Civic Campus.
