Selah Aquatic Center
Selah, Washington
The Selah Aquatic Center was built with the support of local voters who approved a $6.2 million bond to replace the city’s nearly 70-year old pool. The new complex is a valuable resource in the community, offering a wide range of aquatic activities within a small site footprint.
The facility includes an eight-lane lap pool, a shallow lifestyle pool designed for a variety activities including swim lessons and water exercise, and “The Lazy River,” a more tranquil area for floating. Around the swimming area is ample room for sunbathers and attentive parents. The entry lobby, ticket sales counter, lifeguard room, pool manager’s office, concessions area, and changing space make up the bathhouse. The building’s glass entryway and desert-toned exterior draws the structure into the site unobtrusively. The building’s stretched layout allows for multiple access points to the pool area and high visibility for lifeguards and guests.
